The new instructions for the 2014 green card lottery are now available in time for you to apply in October. While the instructions for the green card lottery do not change very much from year to year there are still some very important changes that you should be aware of when applying.
In order to ensure that your application is filed correctly and that you have the best chance of winning the lottery and attaining permanent resident status in the United States you may need some help. USAGreenCardLottery.org can help you file and we guarantee that your application will not be rejected because of filing errors.
Countries that are now ineligible for the green card lottery are Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, South Korea, the United Kingdom and its territories, and Vietnam.
Though China and the United Kingdom are not eligible Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Northern Ireland remain eligible for the green card lottery. Guatemala, a country that was ineligible in the DV-2013, is now eligible for diversity visas.
Just because you were born in one of these countries does not mean that you are necessarily ineligible for the green card lottery. If you apply for our service we can help you figure out other ways to apply for permanent resident status.
Immigrants may apply for the green card lottery as of 12 pm EST on October 2, 2012. The application period will end at 12 pm EST on November 3, 2012. You will only be able to apply for the green card lottery online as the State Department no longer accepts paper applications. Remember that you can only apply once for the DV-2014 and if you send more than one application they will all be rejected.
It is very important to keep the confirmation number that appears in your browser after you successfully apply for the green card lottery. Without this number you won’t be able to check whether or not you won when the Department of State posts the results on May 1, 2013.
